Congratulations to the City of Lockport and our design partners at V3 Engineers on receiving the Project of the Year Award by the American Public Works Association (APWA) Southwest Branch!

The streetscape improvement project was a product of much coordination, between the City, downtown businesses, community and IDOT towards improving the cultural and historic heart of Downtown Lockport, along State Street. Organized to support a walkable environment and outdoor café seating, key streetscape features included:

• In-ground planters with custom railings
• Stone piers with planter pots
• Refurbished lighting
• Decorative paving
• Benches imported from Lockport’s sister city in Asiago, Italy
• Reclaimed stone outcroppings from Lockport’s historic Seven Arches Bridge
