From TIF to Table

Fruition achieved… and man was it delicious. Teska enjoyed a delicious lunch outing and tour yesterday compliments of a past client at Taste of Thai Town in Albany Park.

Teska initially completed the Pulaski Elston Revitalization Plan, which recommended utilizing funds from the expiring Lawrence Pulaski TIF for land redevelopment opportunities to attract new business to Albany Park. Alderman Margaret Laurino (39th Ward) led the effort to pursue the rehab of the former police station into a Thai restaurant and home for the Thai American Association.

Collaboration with renowned Chef Arun Sampanthavivat and the Alderman’s office guided Teska with bidding for the property, securing TIF funding, and preparing a landscape plan and development budget to establish the initial phase of a long-term vision for Thai Town to become a new cultural destination in one of Chicago’s most diverse neighborhoods. Special thanks to Alderman Margaret Laurino of the 39th Ward and Architect Richard Kasemsarn for giving us a full tour following lunch!
