Greensboro, NC
Building on the existing relationship between Teska and the City of Greensboro, NC, the City hired Teska to complete the New Garden Road Strategic Corridor Plan, adopted in summer 2019.
This planning effort was spurred by a series of re-zoning requests and recognition of the need to define a community vision for future development. As part of preparing the Plan–including data, maps, graphics, and document design–Teska led engagement efforts and worked with the City, residents, and business owners along the nearly 4-mile roadway to prepare a set of strategies for neighborhood and corridor enhancement. These actionable recommendations offer a context-sensitive response to increasing development pressure that can help local leaders guide positive change. The Plan’s policy recommendations have led to enhanced public participation in the City’s development review process.
