A collaborative planning process and collective community vision leads the Village forward
LA GRANGE, IL
Project Highlights
The La Grange Comprehensive Plan is a tool to help the Village Board and appointed commissions guide future decision-making in matters of public policy, local regulation, development review, and allocation of resources. This guidance starts with the community vision and goals for the future that are presented in the Plan. Desired outcomes are further defined by the Plan’s recommended actions and strategies, which are organized around particular geographic areas (e.g. downtown, industrial districts) and by topic (e.g. economic development, sustainability).
These recommendations build on past planning efforts of the Village and reflect extensive community outreach and analysis of existing market, land use, and transportation conditions considered as part of this planning process. In this way, the Plan can aid Village officials and staff, alongside partner agencies, as a basis for consistent and thoughtful community actions over a planning horizon of the next 10 to 15 years.
