Project Highlights

• This Parks Plan was completed in conjunction with the Teska-led 2023 Comprehensive Plan to ensure consistency and integration of recommendations
• Recommendations reflect the community’s desire to enhance existing facilities while creating a vision for future uses, access, amenities, maintenance, and visual enhancements of the park system
• 18 existing parks were evaluated for improvements

As a vibrant, growing community, Shorewood retained Teska for development guidance on parks and recreational facilities to better serve its residents with reliable and fun facilities, increased park locations, and enriched recreational programs. This Master Plan reviews the existing parks and recreational resources in the Village and evaluates the facility conditions. By examining the levels of service for the parks in Shorewood, the Plan provides recommendations for facility maintenance, park design, and program development. The Plan will be used to guide capital improvements and to seek funding through grants, foundations, and through traditional municipal sources.
