The West Bloomington Neighborhood Plan was honored on Monday, October 26 with the presentation of the Illinois American Planning Association’s (APA) Strategic Plan award at a neighborhood event in the community and at a City Council meeting. Rob Kowalski, chair of the APA awards jury, stressed to a gathering of neighbors on the West Side that the plan was clearly written in the words of residents. The neighborhood plan was facilitated by Teska Associates and has already led to the creation of the West Bloomington Revitalization Partnership, a new office for the Partnership in a renovated storefront, and coordination of the City’s housing and road improvement funds to invest resources in the neighborhood.
